Visionary and Committed Chairman of Board of Directors of Bank of Azad Jammu and Kashmir

Bank
of Azad Jammu and Kashmir which is a state owned bank and it operates within
the State of AJK. The Bank has grown with a network of 75 branches. Bank has
seen many ups and downs since its inception. It was quite challenging to make a
unique identity among other prominent rivals of banking industry. Challenges
were more than available resources and declining trend was quite disappointing.
Current President/CEO Mr. Khawar Saeed took the bank to new heights by making remedial
strategies and implementing revolutionary plans. Bank is showing tremendous
results in all areas of its business e.g.; Profit, Deposits, Lending,
Remittances etc. Bank of AJK is rapidly progressing and attaining historical
achievements.
It
would be quite unfair here not to mention another name behind this success
story. The name of Mr. Abdul Majid Khan who is serving as State’s Finance Minister
and Chairman of the Board of Directors of BAJK is not new for the people of the
State. Bank’s current Chairman of the Board of Directors Mr. Abdul Majid Khan
is a seasoned politician who has been the member of AJK Legislative Assembly
since 2006. He is currently serving as Finance Minister of the State and also
actively taking care of matters of BAJK as its Chairman of the Board of
Directors. He has exceptional understating of the economic and political
dynamics of the State. He has also previously served as Minister of
Rehabilitation and Social Welfare in Azad Government of the State of Jammu
& Kashmir. He has been the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bank of
AJK since October 21, 2021. He holds Master of Business Administration degree
from well reputed foreign University. As Chairman of the Bank, he provides
effective leadership to the Board of Directors. He presides over Board Meetings
to discuss all strategic issues of the Bank while ensuring that the board is a
high performing team with a shared sense of purpose. He promotes the highest
standard of corporate governance and has diligent planning to get the status of
a scheduled bank. He is a visionary and well committed politician with a rich
experience and political background. He has deep roots in public and has strong
social connections. He used to work hard and day & night for welfare of the
State as a whole and specially for further development of the Bank of Azad
Jammu and Kashmir. He is putting in and using his foreign qualifications, sound
political track record and professional expertise for further growth of the
bank’s business. It is first time in the history of BAJK that such a foreign
qualified, well committed and experienced politician is leading the bank with
full enthusiasm and proactive approach. Although, he is quite busy due to his
social and ministerial commitments but he has close connections with the
management of the Bank and also has a proper & organized monitoring system.
BAJK’
s Chairman is taking special interest not only in growth of bank’s business but
he is trying his level best to get a notable name and reputation for the bank.
He is using his political and public influence for getting new avenues. He organizes
meetings, seminars and public gatherings for introducing Bank’s offers and
plans.
Recently,
he chaired a public gathering in Neelum Valley for presenting Tourism promotion
loan scheme to public and potential investors. He motivated the citizens of the
State to come forward and take ownership of the bank. He also convinced the people
to show their interest for buying the shares and contribute in its development.
He presented the whole plan and offers in front of General Public and political
figures. He is also very active to promote different products of the bank. As
Bank is offering different loans schemes to the Government employees and
general public so he is using his political and social influence to further enhance
the pace of promotional campaign. He is well committed to get the status of
scheduled bank for BAJK and working hard to achieve this goal. He intends to
arrange many gatherings and meetings with other segments of society e.g. businessmen
etc to explore more opportunities for further growth. His positive & proactive
approach and participative & leadership traits are bringing fresh air in
the environment of the Bank of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
Under his dedicated leadership the Bank
of Azad Jammu & Kashmir aims to provide the best facilities across the
State and therefore the Bank has planned to expand its branch network and
provide the banking facilities in the far flung areas of AJK. All business
areas will be further improved and strengthened. New avenues will be explored.
Low cost deposits will be strictly encouraged while potential and reliable
customers will be explored for secure and quality lending. Existing products
will be effectively promoted while new customer-friendly products will be
launched in future. Experienced and expert staff will be hired and modern &
updated training facilities will be provided to existing staff. Bank is
proceeding quickly for acquiring the status of scheduled bank. More state of
the art and well equipped branches are planned to be opened in near future.
People of the State are quite hopeful and
optimistic for further progress of the Bank under magical influence of such a
leader having extraordinary qualities.
